CommitGo Launches the Gitea Education Program

We are excited to announce the launch of the Gitea Education Program, making complimentary annual Gitea Enterprise licenses available to eligible educational institutions.
Who the program is for
The program is designed for non-profit educational institutions, including K-12 schools, colleges, and universities, that are officially recognized, authorized, accredited, licensed, or otherwise approved by the relevant education authority.
Applications should be submitted by faculty, school administrators, or IT staff using an institutional email address.
What is included
Approved institutions receive:
- A complimentary annual Gitea Enterprise license
- Use for teaching, internal school collaboration, and non-commercial academic use
- Community technical support
The Education Program does not include commercial technical support or SLA-backed support.
What we review
To keep the program fair and sustainable, we review each request manually. Institutions may be asked to provide:
- Their institution name, website, and country
- Proof of official recognition, authorization, accreditation, license, or equivalent approval
- Confirmation of non-profit status
- Applicant role and institutional email address
- A short summary of expected usage
